Cleaning for a Reason comes to South Walton
When a woman is diagnosed with cancer and is faced with undergoing chemotherapy treatments, the last thing she feels like doing is cleaning her house.
However, a clean house can do much to boost the spirits of someone who is ill.
Deborah Sardone of Lewisville, Texas recognized this concern in 2006 and founded Cleaning for a Reason to help women facing this challenge.
Residential cleaning companies can partner with the Cleaning for a Reason Foundation and supply the housecleaning a woman needs during this time free of charge, twice a month, for four months.
Ruthann and Aaron Vipperman, owners of Southern Maid and Maintenance Service of Santa Rosa Beach have recently partnered with Cleaning for a Reason to bring the service to South Walton and are looking for potential clients who can benefit from the service. They are the first in Walton County to offer the service.
"It's for any women with any type of cancer who is receiving chemo treatments in our area," said Aaron.
As a new company and couple in the area, the Vippermans were looking for a way to get involved with the community and give back. Aaron came across Cleaning for a Reason in an Internet search and thought the foundation would be a good fit for them.
"My mom, aunt and grandmother have had cancer, so I know how it is," said Ruthann.
The couple moved to Santa Rosa Beach two years ago from Ohio, never having visited Florida before.
"We love it and want to stay," said Aaron.
While they concentrate on 30A with their cleaning service, their Cleaning for a Reason stretches outside the corridor.
The couple has committed to doing five cleanings a month for the foundation and is looking for women who need the service.
"We just partnered with the foundation two weeks ago and are trying to let people know about the service," said Aaron.
Potential clients can call (850) 278-6112 or e-mail maidandmaintenance@gmail.com to see if they qualify.
