Tommy Crow pays tribute to music through photography

The Walton Sun

In honor of last weekend's 30A Songwriter's Festival, local photographer Tommy Crow held his own tribute to the music world.

Crow is the owner of Tommy Crow Studios in Rosemary Beach. As a professional photographer for more than 30 years Crow has encountered his share of rock 'n rollers and had the privilege of photographing them.

In honor of the Songwriter's Festival, Crow placed some of those photographs on exhibit in his studio, along with the works of friends Lee Crum and Terry Allen. Allen is an old college buddy from the 1970s who lives in Athens, Ga. Crow met Crum since moving here. Crum works in New York and New Orleans.

The three photographers compared notes and discovered they had shot quite a number of musicians over 30 years and this would be a good time to show their foray into rock 'n roll through photographs.

Some of the notables Crow has shot throughout the years include Keith Richards and Bruce Springsteen, among others.

In addition to showing off their rock 'n roll exhibit, throughout the weekend, Crow also hosted a showing of classic musical movies from the 1970s, 1980s, and newer.

The rock 'n roll exhibit will be up through Jan. 22.
