A WEEKEND OF SONG: 30A Songwriters Festival opens with preview party (PHOTOS and SCHEDULE)

The third-annual 30A Songwriters Festival brings together more than 125 musicians for more than 250 performances in venues ranging from intimate listening rooms to spacious outdoor amphitheaters this weekend.

Two-time Grammy winner Jim Lauderdale closed out the free performance for members of the Cultural Arts Alliance Wednesday night. The 30A Songwriters Festival 2012 kicked off Wednesday night at Fish Out of Water with a free concert for members of its presenting sponsor, the Cultural Arts Alliance. Larkin Poe, Shawn Mullins, Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls, and two-time Grammy winner Jim Lauderdale performed for a packed house. The festival continues throughout this weekend with performances held up and down the 30A corridor.
