One of Destin's most popular restaurants and its celebrity chef are coming to South Walton.
Cuvee Bistro in Destin will have a sister restaurant, hopefully by December.
Chef Tim Creehan is poised to open Cuvee 30A in the new 30Avenue village center being constructed on U.S. Highway 98E in Inlet Beach across from County Road 30A's east-end entrance.
"I've been looking in that area for a long time," said Creehan. "I was working with a Realtor who suggested this location so we went and looked and I liked everything about it. This location will give us access to the clientele that really appreciates what we do. That clientele is out there."
Cuvee Bistro in Destin will remain open and he will have two locations, spending days each week at each.
The two restaurants will have very similar menus, he said, including his award-winning signature dishes such as Amy Grant's Seared Tuna Rare, and Vince Gill's Pecan Crusted Grouper, both of which are very popular.
Venison, seared tuna, gourmet pizza sliders, and his popular appetizer of fried green tomatoes with warm brie and sautéed crawfish tails served with a crystal hot lemon butter sauce will come with him also.
The restaurant will also offer Chef Damiano Schiano's authentic Italian cuisine that has proven popular in Destin.
Creehan said 30Avenue's developer wanted the Cuvee restaurant, but Creehan said the new location will be serving a totally different market and therefore will be similar, but different.
"The feel will be attractive with similar decor, but with play, more contemporary and modern," said Creehan. "A glass wall will separate the bar from the dining area to get the noise out of the bar away from diners."
At the bar, imbibers can expect to find Cuvee's stellar wine list at Cuvee 30A, along with beer, liquor, and a craft beer bartender.
Cuvee Destin's wildly popular happy hour that lasts from 5 to 8 p.m. will be offered at Cuvee 30A.
Creehan brings to Cuvee 30A an impressive reputation.
Cuvee Destin was just awarded its fourth Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator.
Creehan was the chef/proprietor at Beachwalk Cafe in Destin for 14 years. He has also been at Copper Grill, Blues, Creehan's Market,
"I knew early on that I wanted to cook," he says today.
