The bicyclist killed Oct. 15 after being hit by a vehicle at the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and Geronimo Street has been identified, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Kamonthip Huaihongthong, 23, of Miramar Beach was riding his 2001 bicycle eastbound in the westbound bike lane on Hwy. 98 when a 2009 Ford pickup truck driver failed to see the cyclist, according to the FHP press release.

While turning onto westbound Hwy. 98, Shinsky failed to see Huaihongthong and hit the rider. The 23-year-old bicyclist's identity was pending next-of-kin notification.

Shinsky was not hurt.

The crash is currently under investigation.
