Wow! Could last week have been any more packed full of fun? I think not.
The week began at the press-night showing of "Romantic Fools" last Tuesday night. Stacey and Mike Brady, Myra Williams and her daughter, and Mary Jane Kirby were there.
Seagrove Garden Club celebrated its 50th anniversary last Wednesday at Cafe Thirty-A with a scrumptious lunch by the chef and a cake baked by Patsy Powell. Sarah Modica, Peggy Sue Mullen, Donna Gibson, Jan Stanko, Georgeen Newell, Helena Stoppert, Joanne Mathis, Sharon Jenkins, Rose Rogers, Tim Ryan, Dianne Smith, Patsy Powell, Dot Adams, Julie Kovack, Karen Kolenberg, Donna Vann, Suzanne Smart, Diane Sidwell, Brenda Radtke, Karen White, Beth Coppedge, Barbara Pierce-Smith, Garner Chandler, Patti Johnson, Judy Harris, Gillian Lee, and Sharron Mattison were some who attended. I also saw Bess Grasswick, Ricky Fannin, and Gary Cooper while there.
Stephanie Carter kicked off South Walton Fashion Week in fine fashion last Thursday night at her Southern Fashion House headquarters. The theme was "Boots & Bubbly." I wore my boots and one of Stephanie's dresses that I own. Stephanie showed her fabulous designs while Old Bull Young Bull played and attendees enjoyed tapas from Emerald Coast Catering. Angela Vaughn, Paige Schnell, Morgan Palmer, Sheila Goode, Rebecca Balkcom, Nancy and Barron Strother enjoyed.
Also last Thursday night was Rosemary Beach Foundation's "A Conversation with John Hemingway" at
The next morning Hemingway signed copies of his book in front of The Hidden Lantern and I purchased one. It is an unbelievably fascinating read. To be able to talk to him face to face was also very interesting. Ron and Jackie Hart, Jim Anders, Zuma Banks, and Claire Bannerman lunched with him after the signing.
South Walton Fashion Week officially kicked off Friday afternoon on the Tommy Bahama lawn. Jennifer Steele, Stacey Brady, Rebecca Balkcom, Jon Ervin, Jim Bagby, Angela Vaughn, Tiffanie Shelton, Sheila Goode, Jami Ray, Lauren Magli, Beverly Schmitt, Ashley Johnson, Mike and Angela Ragsdale, Joyce Hogue, Dawn Whitty, Jennifer McAlexander, Michael Dobson, Kyle Petit, Lynn Dugas, and Hilary Fosdyck were some who attended opening night.
Margaret Cline, Shirley and Mac Walker, Linda Bruner, Kent and Peggy Lillie enjoyed dinner at Mitchell's last Friday night. Linda came into town from West Palm for South Walton Fashion Week.
I saw Eric Clauson at the
Perspicacity joined in the Fashion Week fun offering tapas and mimosas as models showed off the store's fashions Saturday. Rebecca Balkcom was there, and modeling were lovely Makenzie Carter and Kendall Moore. The tapas were yummy!
Sherry Londe, Claire Bannerman, John Czapleski, Joan Vienot, and Leslie Kolovich attended the Paddle for the Planet last weekend at
Saturday night the 30A Posse turned out en force at Marie's Bistro for Ed Macdonald's surprise 50th birthday party given by his lovely bride, Donna. Mark Caraway, Gillian and Gerry Lee, Ladie Bea and Wayne Carlisle, Dan Mueller, Ginny Jones, John Stasko, Randy and Lillian Torrey, Karen and Maunsel White, Sandy and Steve Weiner, Mike and Sherri McCarty, Beverly and Greg Schmitt, Joe Serrato, Tom and Michelle Fillingim, Dana and Tom Saffel, Brad and Claudia Droy, Carol and Mike Stovsky, Nancy and Lahrye Radford, Ken Golden, Georgeen Newell, Didon Comer, Hank White, Beth and Bob Coppedge attended. Hanie was, as always, the perfect host, and the tapas were delicious.
St. Rita held a pancake breakfast Sunday morning. Joe Colello, Mark Caraway, Jackie Hart, and John Stasko enjoyed.
I saw Michelle Silberman and Judy Foster at the beach Sunday afternoon.
Congratulations to Kevin Boyle and Meagan Stanley on their marriage last weekend in
Gary Mattison performed his first wedding ceremony Sept. 29 joining Adrian and Alyssa Hollingsworth in marriage at the
Margie Radford celebrated a milestone Oct. 17 when she turned 90. Residents of Crystal Bay Senior Living, friends and relatives joined her in celebrating on Oct. 18. Margie moved here from
Sandestin's Jon Vice received the Founder's Award from the Children's Miracle Network last week. Congratulations!
