The Walton Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a Women’s Symposium at the Hilton Sandestin May 30, inviting business women to find their “personal and professional balance.”

“It’s all about giving professional women the tools to wear the many hats they must juggle on a daily basis,” said Mary Huey, event coordinator for the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce. “Working moms, career-oriented women, you name it — we want to share information and ideas to help these women meet all the demands of the day.”

The Women’s Symposium offered informational seminars, goodie bags, prize giveaways, and a full day to relax.

“Everyone needs to recharge their bodies and minds,” Huey said. “We want these women to return to their jobs and families feeling rejuvenated.”

Ruth Edwards, human resource development specialist with Chelco and new mom of a one-year-old son, knows just how important it is to find balance.

“Being a new mom and working full-time can be a little overwhelming,” she said. “So today is a great opportunity to become refreshed and discover new tools to find balance in both your professional and personal life.”

The first key-note speaker of the day was Barbara Toliver-Haskins, professional certified coach with Executive Coaching Solutions, who said finding life’s balance is a journey.
