Music, food, family activities and fireworks celebrate Memorial Day in South Walton/Destin.

First Note Concert

Benjy Davis, Britton Cameron, Kaci Bolls and Paul McDonald perform at 7 p.m. May 23 and 24 at Seascape Resort on the Driving Range, 556 Seascape Drive in Miramar Beach. Doors open 6 p.m. Food and bull bar available. Tickets are $25/adults, $12.50/children 11-15; and free/children 10 and under. To order, call 888-920-9372.

American Legion

Karaoke will be held from 7:30-11:30 p.m. May 23 at American Legion Post 296, 311 Main Street in Destin. Poppy distributions take place at local stores and restaurants May 24. Call 837-3818.

Jazz on the Lawn

Seaside presents an eclectic group of jazz artists from 5-7 p.m. May 24 in the Amphitheater.

Sinfonia Strolls

Musicians will perform acoustic sets from 6-8 p.m. May 24 throughout the cobblestone streets of Rosemary Beach.

Memorial Day at Baytowne

Kick off summer with live music by Stellar from 7-9 p.m. May 24; kids’ activities and live music with Coconut Radio from 6-9 p.m. and fireworks over the lagoon at 9:15 May 25; and a Memorial Day program presented by the Sandestin Veterans at 7 p.m. followed by live music with Todd Sparks May 26 in the Events Plaza at The Village of Baytowne Wharf in Miramar Beach.

Groovin’ On The Green

Enjoy the music of the Rowdies from 7-9 p.m. May 25 on the Village Green at Carillon Beach.

Memorial Weekend Concert

Enjoy a free Memorial Weekend Concert from 5-8 p.m. May 25 at Marina Park at WaterColor Inn & Resort, 34 Goldenrod Circle in WaterColor.

Sinfonia Goes Pops

Enjoy the orchestral sounds of Sinfonia Gulf Coast at 7:30 p.m. May 25 under the palm trees in the Alys Beach Amphitheatre, followed by fireworks.

Summer Sunday Concerts

Gulf Place on 30A will host a free concert with The Wildlife Specials from 6-9 p.m. May 25 on the Amphitheater lawn. Bring chairs and blankets.

Gulf Cemetery

Gulf Cemetery will celebrate its centennial birthday with the unveiling of a marker at the Memorial observance at 10 a.m. May 26 on State Road 393 S. in Santa Rosa Beach. World War II vintage planes known as “The War Birds” will conduct an honorary “Fly Over” in a missing man formation and attendees will be invited to place American flags at veterans’ graves. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the Chapel at Cross Point across CR 393.

Gum Greek Cemetery

The 19th Annual Memorial Day Service at one of the oldest in Walton County will be held at 8 a.m. May 26 just off SR-83, north of DeFuniak springs.

Memorial Day Ride and Ceremony

The Vietnam/Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club (MC), Chapter Z will present a Memorial Day Ceremony at the Fallen Soldier Monument at Niceville City Hall on May 26.The event begins with a motorcycle ride that departs Badcock’s parking lot in Niceville at 11 a.m. proceeding to Niceville City Hall for the ceremony at the Fallen Soldier Monument. The day continues at American Legion Post 221, Niceville, for a free cookout and DJ music.

Crawfish and Blues Cruise

Cruise through Memorial Day weekend on 30A from 1:30-4:30 p.m. May 26 on the Solaris at Baytowne Marina with live music by Boukou Groove/Donnie Sundal and New Orleans’ Johnny Vidacovich and choice of food. Cost is $45/person. Reservations required.

Sunset Movie

Enjoy a free movie at 8 p.m. May 26 in WaterColor’s Marina Park.
