What happens when the photographic eyes of a right-brained writer and left-brained forensic accountant merge in an art exhibit?

On April 3 visitors got to see the answer in the exhibit Modern Montage, which opened at Hidden Lantern Gallery in Rosemary Beach.

The two differing views the photographers have of the same landscape hang side by side in the gallery, views from sunrise to sunset and more along the beautiful shoreline.

This is where retired magazine editor Janet Thomas finds her inspiration — the gorgeous views outside the second home she and husband Steve bought two years ago in Seacrest.

Janet is a retired travel magazine editor and Steve still works in Dallas when not at the beach. As a couple, they have been into photography for more than two decades. Janet's job took her all over the world, and always with a camera in tow, awarding her and her husband the opportunity to visit and photograph many sites.

"That situation lent itself to spark an interest in photography for both of us," she said.

She had never visited South Walton, but was contacted four years ago and invited to visit Alys Beach .
