Geographic Information Systems Division moving to courthouse annex July 17

DeFuniak Springs, Fla - The Geographic Information System (GIS/IR) Department will be moving to a new location at the Walton County Courthouse Annex, 45 North 6th Street, DeFuniak Springs on July 17th.  The department has been located at the Emergency Operations Center at 75 Davis Lane in DeFuniak Springs and designs county maps for various public uses like commission district maps and recycling location maps. The Department also provides addresses for new homes.

"Our department's relocation will provide easier public accessibility," says Harold Bigham, Manager of the GIS/IR Department.  "Currently, visitors have to meet with us at the Emergency Operations Center Annex.  Our new location will soon be next to the Courthouse in DeFuniak Springs, right behind Thriftway Supermarket, meaning citizens will have less distance to travel to do more business with their county government," he says.

The Department's services will not be interrupted during the move, and county staff will be available at both locations until the new location's phone lines are fully operational on July 17.  For any information regarding the GIS/IR Department's services, call Harold Bigham at (850) 892-2452.
