Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is seeking volunteers in the Destin and South Walton area — scorers, check-point attendants and shuttle drivers — for the 2013 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships May 14-17 at the award winning Raven Golf Club, Baytowne Golf Club and The Links Golf Club.

Residents and guests have the opportunity to be part of this special event. By contributing time on Tuesday, May 14, through Friday, May 17, volunteers can receive a free round of golf at the Links Golf Club, Baytowne Golf Club or the Raven Golf Club, and get an event volunteer t-shirt.

There will be no spectator sections, so volunteering is a great way to see the championship in action.

More than 60 teams will have the opportunity to play on three of Florida’s premier courses located at Sandestin during the four-day tournament. While enjoying the beautiful greens, golfers will be challenged by water hazards and sand bunkers in an attempt to win the coveted title.

Hosted by Methodist University, the tournament will consist of 21 women’s teams competing on 72 holes at the Baytowne Golf Club and 41 men’s teams competing at the Raven Golf Club and The Links Golf Club. For the men, the first two rounds will be a 36-hole cut, with rounds three and four being played on Raven Golf Club; all other rounds will be played on The Links Golf Club.

If you would like to volunteer for the NCAA Division III Golf Championships or for additional information, please contact Tyler Arnold at the Baytowne Raven Golf Pro Shop by calling 850-267-8155 or emailing tyler505@gmail.com.
