Nest on 30A celebrates one year

When Ali and Rob Weil decided to make the move to South Walton in 2011, they quickly began shopping for home furnishings and accessories. Then it occurred to them: Why not open their own store and sell the type items they would buy? If they were looking to purchase these items, then surely others would also.

The couple opened Nest on 30A in 2012 and the store offers the upscale beachy-type fare including contemporary easy-living furnishings, unique fine gifts, home decor, locally made candles, artwork, home accents, home accessories, jewelry, Turkish towels, gift and bath items and more in a small, cozy, friendly, and inviting atmosphere.

"We try to use local artists and items made locally," said Ali, "or at least regionally. I have always loved the home decor industry and wanted to become part of the community in this capacity."

The store is the Weils' first to own.

The boutique shop celebrated its first anniversary recently, and Ali says their first year in Grayton has been a good one.

"We had vacationed here many times and my mother-in-law lives here," she said. "It's beautiful here."

The couple is from Birmingham where she worked in international finance for a private company and Rob worked in marketing. He works in real estate here.
