New hotel in Rosemary Beach to open in July

The Pearl will be as much of a vacation spot for tourists as it will be a destination for relaxation and fine dining for locals. Votta plans for the new development to interact with its local community through special events.

"We're going to service everyone from our more traveled guests to our locals," he said.

What makes The Pearl different from other hotels and resorts on 30A will be the customer service, Votta said. Earlier this week the new development held a career fair — not to be mistaken for a job fair — to look for employees to fill 80-100 full and part-time positions.

"We're working on finding the finest," Votta said. "We're casting our net throughout all of the Panhandle including our veterans."

Just as the employees are to treat the guests, the hotel aims to give their staff the chance to work their way up in the hotel industry.

"This is for the person looking to be here long-term," said Kami Smith, human resources consultant with Sand Dollar Human Resources, LLC. "We'll have at least 60 full-time positions available with benefits."

It is Votta's hope that each employee will transition into a full-time position with the opportunity to develop skills and work with mentors in the hospitality business.
