TUESDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE: Between North and South Walton, there won't be too much of a contrast in icy conditions.

"Timing is the main difference," said Katie Moore, meteorologist with National Weather Service. "Since it moves from northwest to southeast, it will hit North Walton County sooner."

Moore said Walton County residents can expect to see sleet after 6 p.m. tonight, which will change to snow starting at 8 p.m. Still, the predicted amount of snow is between one to three inches, with North Walton County receiving the higher totals.

In the past 24 hours the biggest changes in the winter storm is the amount of coverage, Moore said.

"It's moving further south and east," she said.
