723 Whiskey Bravo Bistro & Bar, and La Playa both held soft openings last weekend. Geoff McBride played at LaPlaya's. Kirsten Carpenter and Barbara Rowan were there. Linda Miller went to 723 Whiskey Bravo's.

Saturday morning was the bi-annual Seaside yard sale. Sally Rice, Billy Garrett, Frank Berte, Leslie Woodham, Patti Terjak, Hannah Bowyer, and Kathy Bridges took it in.

The Village of Baytowne Wharf was a busy place to be Sunday afternoon as the Village hosted its annual Mardi Gras pooch parade and the Wine Women & Shoes event at the same time.

Robin Wiesneth, Pam and Sherlock Watkins, Gary Bowman, Linda Quinlan, Lucy Hoffer, Susan Paladini, and Meg Warrington were among the big crowd attending the festive Mardi Gras pooch parade.

Opting for Wine Women & Shoes (and ladies' fashions) were Sarah Svoboda, Marinella and Robert Monk, Sandy and Greig Buckley, Denise Dobelek, Emily Carvallo, Kate Kelly, Tim Krueger, Nancy Cottle, Nan Ream, Myra Williams, Lauren Gall, Judy Wiseman, Lorre James, Betty White, Joe and Lea Capers, Hillary and Cory Fosdyck, Demetria and Richard McNeese, Wanda Duke, Gena and Ronnie Bolton, Linda Miller, Jennifer and Blevins Howard, Elaine Tucker, John Russell, Nina Horn, Ron Green, Malpa Fuller, Demetrius Fuller, and Michael Dobson.

I enjoyed a great meal at The Vue on 30A last Tuesday night, which is their prime-rib night, along with Keith and RoseAnn Knight, and John Stasko. While some of my dining companions chose the prime rib and loved it, I selected the escargot in phyllo and fried oysters Rockefeller. Yummy! Betty Krika, Rick Schoonover, Judy Heninger, and Linda Johnstone were also there.

Laurie Hood celebrated her birthday in New York City.
