This weekend, Dudley and Al Cook will host three of Dudley's college roommates and their spouses: Jane and Jimmy Walker from Byron, Ga; Sandra and Jim Smith from Union Springs, Ala.; and Joy Ray from Birmingham. Al said they intend to eat, drink, and play well for three days.

Debbi Morris, Charlie and Betty White, Gena and Ronnie Bolton, Shirley and Chuck Simpson, Wanda Duke, Jeanne Dailey, Demetrius Fuller and Michael Dobson, Dennis Lichorwic, Richard and Demetria McNeese, Heather Tate, and Shaye Smith are more folks who enjoyed the festive inaugural South Walton Beaches Wine Fest.

Joe and Lea Capers, Donna Burgess, and Myra Williams attended the Walton County Chamber's Celebrity Waiter Dinner last week.

I saw Donna at Home Depot last weekend buying plants to spruce up her new home.

Congratulations to Arlene Newsome, who won the People's Choice Award at last month's opening reception for the Cultural Arts Alliance's Top of the Class A+ Art Exhibit at Northwest Florida State College South Walton campus. Attendees chose her Tuscany painting as best in the exhibit.

Emerald Coast Middle School Golf team won their first (inaugural) golf tournament at Origins Golf Course against Seaside Middle School last week. Emerald Coast Middle School and Seaside are working hard to develop golf programs at each school and 2014 already looks promising for both. Congrats!

Sandestin resident, former F-15 pilot, and new skeet-shooting aficionado Mark Devlin broke 20 of 25 skeet last week — his personal best.
