That afternoon, Cathy Toole, Nancy Holmes, Brook Stetler, and Cara Roy attended An Evening With Escape to Create where artist Heidi Pietre discussed her artwork.

That night, it was Oscar time. Linda and Fred Buehler, Jan, Richard and Alice Butela held an Oscar party.

Lynn Wesson hosted a "Bling" Oscar party at her house, with pizza, popcorn, and drinks, and crowned a "Bling Queen." Gale Culling won "Bling Queen" and Barbara Miller got the Oscar for most winners chosen. Others attending were Jane Krimbill, Pat Bourgault (Jane's sister), Kay Phelan and her sister Robin, Jeanne Backe, and Mary Damroth.

Director Ryan White's documentary "Good Ol' Freda" is slated for a SXSW debut March 9 at South by Southwest. "Good Ol' Freda" tells the story of the Beatles’ secretary, Freda Kelly. Ryan got rights to use four original Beatles songs in his documentary. The secretary worked for the Fab Four for 11 years and ran the Beatles’ fan club. It’s the first time Kelly, now in her late 60s, has told her story. Ryan is the son of Santa Rosa Beach's Hank White.

South Walton's Byron Chism's Butt Rub is a finalist in the 2013 Best Barbecue Rub category. This is a "Peoples Choice" award.

Fire has been chosen to have a short segment aired on The Destination Guide. Filming will be during dinner March 9 and during brunch March 10. Brenda and Mario wants everyone to come out and help fill the dining room and bar. Testimonials will be taken.

Chef Phil McDonald is in New York City for a consulting gig and his first restaurant stop  — DespanaNY — included dining next to celebrity chef Jose Andres, credited for bringing the “small plates” dining concept to the United States.
