PARTY LINE: With Valentine's Day behind us, bring on St. Patty

I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Valentine's Day last week. I did, and I am thankful and feel blessed that it was the best ever.

It was cold, but still, a great weekend to bundle up and get outside and enjoy some physical exercise, which just makes you appreciate a nice fire and bottle of red wine when you're done.

Jane Bahr spent Valentine's Day in Birmingham celebrating granddaughter Avery's first birthday. Jane celebrated her own birthday at Cafe Thirty-A on Ash Wednesday after services at Point Washington United Methodist Church.

Gulf Place hosted another yard sale last Saturday in its amphitheater. I saw Dwight Ward. Even though it was cold and not a lot of people or tables braving the chill, I found some real treasures.

Redd and Paul Vizard, Betty Krika, and John Stasko took in a fabulous sunset last Saturday night from The Vue on 30A's deck. Jimbo Holloway, Lahrye and Nancy Radford stayed warm inside. Betty, John, and Jimbo returned Sunday night. Jane and Doug Anderson, and the Anderson's children and grandchildren joined them.

I might have been one of the last people to see "Zero Dark Thirty" at the theater, but I finally took it in during last Sunday's cold snap. It was a much better movie than I had anticipated.

It's always fun at the grocery store as I run into people I know or recognize. Last weekend, I saw Diane Grey Page at Publix, who told me about her travels. She is currently off to the Turks and Caicos. Take me!
