That afternoon, Walton County's Tourist Development Council held its annual meeting at The Hilton's Barefoot Bar & Grill. Matt Wise has reason to brag. In the 17 and Under Elite division for the 2013 Paddleboard race season, he took first place at the Hennessey WPA World Championships in Las Vegas, the Orange Bowl Paddle Championship in Miami, and the Carolina Cup SUP Race in Wrightsville Beach. Wise also marked his third consecutive division first place finish in the Florida State Paddleboard Championship in Cocoa Beach and second victory in the East Coast Paddleboard Championship in Daytona Beach. He qualified and competed in both the 2013 Rainbow Sandals Gerry Lopez Battle of the Paddle elite technical race and elite distance race in Dana Point.
