Police are asking for help to find a suspect in an attempted killing.
Investigators have obtained warrants for burglary to an occupied dwelling while armed and attempted premeditated first-degree murder for Ronnie Lamont Phillips, 47, of DeFuniak Springs.
On Wednesday, police went to North Davis Lane and found Melissa Hobdy with multiple cuts and stab wounds. She was flown to Sacred Heart Hospital at Pensacola.
Hobdy was released Thursday.
Phillips is 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighs 220 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He recently had extensive dental work to remove most of his teeth.
Police believe Phillips has fled the state and could be staying with family in Alabama. Lt. Tillman Mears with the DeFuniak Springs Police Department said the police are working with a law enforcement agency in Alabama.
Phillips is considered armed and dangerous.
