Put on your Hats for Hope: Destin Woman's Club holding fashion show, fundraiser

Co-chairs of this year’s show, Peggy Herbig and Kate Callicotte invite you to “spring” into fashion at the Destin Woman’s Club Spring Fashion Show and luncheon “Hats for Hope,” taking place on Saturday March 16. Proceeds from this event will be donated to Shelter House.

Upon arrival and being welcomed, guests will be treated to a spectacular array of the famous Destin Woman’s Club “Raffle Row,” for which they can purchase tickets and also make bids on stunning silent auction items.

“Our local community has been very generous, with donated goods and packages worth $20,000,” Herbig said.

There are spa packages, condo and vacation packages, paintings, artwork, fine jewelry, salon treatments, The Wine Cart and even a raffle table for those furry pets in our lives.  There will be a cash bar offering bloody  Mary’s, mimosas and wine.

Being held in the Grand Ballroom at the Linkside Conference Center at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, the club members announced that this year’s theme will be “Hats for Hope.”  The ballroom seating of 300 will be transformed into a delightful garden party theme, captivating the hope and freshness of spring.  The venue will be designed by Kim Ederer, Sandra Williams and their team.

Prior to lunch, guests will be invited to bid as a complete table of 10 on the club’s “renowned” Designer Table, designed by Lynn Lake.  This table will include 10 delightful “gift bags,” each containing gifts with a value of at least $400. Plus, one lucky person at that table will go home with the “grand prize.” The winner of the grand prize is picked at random from the 10 occupants of the Designer Table. 

Bids for being seated at the Designer Table will be taken before lunch is served. The table of 10 guests with the highest bid will be moved to the “best table in the room,” Herbig says.

Once the models commence their display of fashions, guests will be treated to a show of fashions suitable for every family member. Patti Burcham will present the stores participating in this year’s show: Apricot Lane, Beach Bums Resort Wear, Hugs & Hissy Fits, Ivey Ladies Boutique, Kiki Risa, Men’s Wearhouse, Orvis Retail Store, Stein Mart, Today’s Boutique, Threads, Boca Boutique.

The Destin Woman’s Club recognizes and thanks this year’s event sponsors: Dr. Adams and staff of Coastal Skin Surgery and Dermatology, Dr. Nitin Bawa, Professional Associates, TrustMark Bank and Today’s Boutique. Herbig said that the club’s sponsors are crucial to the success of this event and the donation that Shelter House will receive.
