It's sunny, warm and humid with a west wind blowing at the Okaloosa Island Pier Tuesday morning. There's a 1-2 foot wave rolling in and the water is clear with some grass showing up. In the last few days anglers have reeled  in Spanish mackerel, hardtail, ladyfish, redfish, bluefish, king mackerel and tarpon. There's an occasional pompano still running around in the surf and whiting has been good. Shrimp, sandfleas or jigs work well for bait.

During hot summer days, the speckled trout fishing has slowed up somewhat. A lot of smaller trout are being caught near Hogtown and Mack Bayou and on the north side of the bay. Look for clean water. Finding bait is a bit tough, but a live croaker will do the trick if you can find one. Redfish are still stacked up at the bridges. There are a few ladyfish and bluefish in the bay.
