Seagar's shows off $2 million in upgrades

The lounge area also received a facelift with a redo of its focal point: the fireplace, which was raised and is now flush with the wall instead of the raised exposed hearth.

A new private dining area with exposed glass, new lighting, upholstery, and carpeting was added.

A semi-private wine dining room for 16 people joins Seagar's original wine room, and its smaller private-label wine room for two.

The menu featuring New York-style USDA prime beef, seafood such as halibut in season, and the restaurant's signature dish of flaming bananas Foster prepared tableside did not change, said Breilmayer, but new, innovative ways of ordering are in place.

The restaurant now offers custom cuts, allowing guests the opportunity to order steaks to spec, including thickness, weight, and temperature.

Once you've decided on your dish for the evening, no guessing is needed as to what wine pairs best with that dish. Seagar's is the first restaurant in the area to now offer an iPad for ease of ordering and menu/wine ordering, which is brought to your table.
