SANTA ROSA BEACH -- The South Walton Seahawks put up another 500-yard plus game Friday night, whipping the Cottondale Hornets 54-26 for a sweet homecoming victory.

"I think we built on the momentum from last week," said South Walton Coach Phil Tisa. "We saw last week that we can play with good teams and I think we carried that into this week."

Last week the Seahawks beat district opponent Chipley 45-38.

"Cottondale is a good ball team, they've got some great athletes … but to come out and put up 54 points I couldn't be happier," Tisa said as he walked off the field.

But the difference in the game was "tempo and execution," Tisa said.

South Walton put the ball in a lot of different player’s hands and tallied up more than 528 total yards of offense.

"That's what we want to do, it makes it hard when you've got to defend everybody on the team," he said.
