SPLIT DECISION: Seahawks divided on the diamond in double header

Senior pitcher Reed Yandell came in as relief late in the first inning for the Seahawks in the 11-2 loss to Donelson Christian Academy of Nashville.

After blasting University School of Nashville 16-0, the South Walton Seahawks came up short 11-2 to Donelson Christian Academy of Nashville in a doubleheader Tuesday afternoon in Santa Rosa Beach .

"You've got to tip your hat to DCA in the first inning. We got in a hole and really couldn't over come it," said South Walton Coach Nick Borthwick.

In the first inning, DCA pounded out seven hits for an eight-run start.

South Walton answered in the bottom half with one run on two hits. Reed Yandell walked and scored on a double to right field by Zach Lance. Sage Roberts followed with a single. Jack Flynn reached on a fielder's choice with Roberts going down at second base for an out. Flynn was picked off at first for the third out.

After coming in as relief pitcher late in the first Yandell shut the DCA Wildcats down the next four innings.

South Walton got runners on base but failed to get them home.

In the second, Noah Neville singled up the middle, but then got picked off at first base.
