Two arrested in Coastal Bank robbery (with MUGS)
DEFUNIAK SPRINGS — Late Thursday night, two arrests were made in a bank robbery case from earlier this month in South Walton County.
Brian Reeves, 28, of Baker, and his girlfriend, Kendra Hill, 18, of Crestview, were each charged as principles to a robbery that occurred at the Coastal Bank Branch on Miramar Beach on Oct. 9, said a release from Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
Wayne Alderman, 49, was arrested at a residence in Northern Okaloosa County several days after the robbery. Alderman walked into the bank and told the teller, “I’m robbing you; give me all of your money,” the release said.
The teller says Alderman had one of his hands in his pants’ pocket like he had a weapon, but she said she never saw the weapon.
Reeves is believed to be the getaway driver of the 1999, red Dodge Dakota that was parked behind the Coastal Bank Branch in a shopping mall complex. Walton County Sheriff’s Office investigators determined Alderman, Reeves and Hill planned the robbery, the release said.
Reeves and Hill were arrested in Okaloosa County before being transferred to the Walton County Jail. They are both expected to have their bond hearing before a judge this morning in DeFuniak Springs, the release said.
