Stand off ends in arrest of Freeport man

Walton County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Daniel Manor, Monday evening, after a several hour stand-off at a Stanley Drive resident in Freeport. Manor reportedly threatened a woman and her children, as well as his wife and sister-in-law, with an assault rifle. He was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Deputies ordered Manor out of the residence multiple times over a several hour period but he would not comply. Walton County Sheriff’s SWAT team was activated and responded to the scene. Once again Manor was ordered out of the house but did not comply. The SWAT team deployed rounds of a clear-out gas into the home to force Manor outside; he exited the residence and was taken into custody.

Two rifles were collected from the residence. Manor was transported to the Walton County Jail.
