LETTER: Hey, sore losers, president bashing is not a patriotic duty
My conservative friends are suffering.
Oh, you know who you are, agonizing over the direction this country is being led by an untrustworthy president you don't think won the election fair and square.
“His policies are scary,” they say. “It’s like Nazi Germany and his actions abroad are an embarrassment to the entire nation.”
Oh, I KNOW the pain these poor people are in.
I felt the SAME WAY, saying the EXACT same things for eight years under George W. Bush. Only when I, like many others, said back then that the wars Bush was leading us into were wrong, and the debt he was building up for future generations was too oppressive, conservatives in general answered back that if anyone didn't like it we should just get on a plane with Jane Fonda and get the heck out of this country!
Even if someone didn’t like the man they should respect the office he held.
Now these same Republicans consider president bashing a patriotic duty. They have disrespected Obama so much that school children were not allowed to hear his back to school speech.
They don't care if they have their facts right; indeed the conservatives are hostile to intelligence, calling folks that have it elitists.
Court jesters like Beck and “Limpbaugh” and Palin are their idols because they glamorize “willful ignorance,” as writer David Sirota calls it.
President Obama was handed a big mess to clean up ten months ago and although everything isn't perfect, it is a lot better than if we had another four years of Republican ineptitude and greed ruining this country.
If you don't like it, you can just go dunk your tea bags in the Gulf and wait for the oil rigs to be built off shore.

| Ms Brockett, how can you ask anyone to respect the office, when the office holder, goes abroad, tells those people that we are not a Christian nation, says that we are responsible for some of the bad things that happened to our nation, and offer his apologies. He constantly bows and scrapes before the leaders of lesser nations.
He has brought change, none of it good.
As to the remark by the Charles Morgan. I do not know if it is indeed Charles from Harbor Docks, I would remind him of a remark I heard him utter shortly after the election to the effect" anyone who did not vote for Obama does not have much going for them" I did not vote for him but neither do I have to apologize for all of us idiotic blunders. |

| Wait a minute. Liberals bashed George Bush for 8 years, yet Obama is untouchable? Mary, that is the most ridiculous argument in the history of commenting. |

| RE Hey, sore losers, president bashing is not a patriotic duty Interesting choice of headline. I'll make sure to remind the Left of this in 2012 when they dislike what is coming due to what they are doing. |

| Thanks Mary. I really get tired of all the ignorant rants posted here.
I say, Get an education and then you'll know how to distinguish between fear or superstition and the truth.

| This uninformed, disrespecting, hostile, unintelligent, sore loser,
Gulf t-bagging fool, oil drilling lover would like to say to Mary of
Pensacola. You were able too, and you did express your negative views on Bush for eight years and many of you are still blaming him for everything. This was and is your American right. So why do you feel the need to use so many harsh and downright nasty adjectives to describe me and my kind, when we express our views and opinions on your fellow, Obama? Would it be that you consider yourself more elite and wiser than us? |
