Tax Collector's Office's new credit card processor results in lower convenience fee

DeFuniak Springs – The Walton County Tax Collector’s Office has contracted with a new third party credit card processing company, Collector Solutions, Inc., resulting in the ability to offer a lower convenience fee on credit/debit card transactions to customers. Additionally, the tax office will accept VISA cards for online and phone tax transactions only.

“The primary goal of my office is to offer convenient and efficient services to the citizens of Walton County,” said Tax Collector Rhonda Skipper. “Paying with your credit and debit cards has become the preferred method of payment for many individuals and I am always looking to find a vendor who can offer these services to our customers more affordably.”

Collector Solutions, Inc. is a Pensacola based company founded in 2003. Their client list includes the Escambia County Tax Collector’s Office and cities of Pensacola and Panama City as well as multiple government agencies in Florida and Missouri.

In addition to lowering the convenience fee to 2.5% on all credit/ debit transactions, the Tax Collector’s Office will accept VISA cards for online and phone tax payments only. Due to VISA’s restrictions the cards are still not accepted for in-person payments.
