Wooldridge claims he hasn't had a girlfriend since fifth grade and has only been on one date, which was last year.

"It was really awkward and I haven't seen her since," he said with a shy laugh.

While he hasn't had much luck in getting dates on the show, he has gained an audience of fans who send him encouragement and the occasional marriage proposal.

"It would be awesome if I could find a girlfriend through the show," he said. "That could be the finale."

"Lyric Lines" has already been green-lighted for a second season and recently received a sponsorship from Coke. This summer, Wooldridge is hoping to take his show to the Destin and Walton County beaches. Maybe filming close to home will make him more at ease?

"I have been looking around to see where I can pick up some girls," he said of venturing home. "No matter what, I think I'll always feel awkward around girls."
