If you or your children want a dress rehearsal for Halloween, then you will have a blast at AJ’s kid- and adult-centered Halloween celebrations Oct. 27.

“It’s the place to be for Halloween,” said Tracy McCraw marketing director at AJ’s.

The kids’ event will begin at 2 p.m. in the front of AJ’s Seafood and Oyster bar, 116 Harbor Blvd. in Destin, and last until “whenever.”

“Bass Pro Shop, Build-A-Bear and Lowe’s all from the Destin Commons — they’ll be over here with crafts and building construction stuff,” said McCraw.

There will also be treats, pumpkin carving and drinks provided for the kids. Amongst the children dressed as their favorite super hero, cartoon character, or frightening ghoul, one will be declared winner for best costume.

The fun for those 21 and older will follow at 10 p.m. upstairs at AJ’s Club Bimini. Admission is free, but those attending must come dressed in costume.

“A late night costume party is what it is,” said McCraw, the main event of which will be the costume contest. The contestant with “the most original and innovative costume out there” will receive $500 cash.
