The Boys and Girls Club received final approval from Walton County Commissioners, but commissioners called for outdoor lighting and public announcement system to be terminated at 8 or 8:30 p.m.

County Administrator Mike Underwood resigned to pursue other interests.

The lake at Deer Lake State Park was off limits to boaters until the state could determine whether hydrilla, an invasive aquatic plant, was introduced to the lake.

Seaside was the setting for the shooting of a Goody’s department store commercial.
