20 years ago — 1993

A .186 millage increase was approved by the Walton County Board of Commissioners to cover part of the $22,984,193 county operating budget for 1994.

Nineteen travel journalists representing various national and regional publications explored the Beaches of South Walton, sponsored by the South Walton Tourist Development Council.

To meet the growing demand for water and the projected water needs in South Walton County, South Walton Utility Co., Inc., looked at increasing tap fees and water usage fees.

Seaside Swim and Tennis Club hosted the Seaside National Invitational Croquet Tournament followed by the Gatsby Garden Party on the croquet lawn.
