Walton history: Choctaw Ferry fight

25 years ago — 1988

Engineers from the state Department of Transportation and Walton County officials joined forces to seek a solution to problems with the Choctaw Ferry in South Walton.

Christ the King Episcopal Church in South Walton announced its first service would be held Christmas Eve.

20 years ago — 1993

The Walton County Board of Commissioners approved an amendment to the flood prevention ordinance which qualifies the county for the community rating system and allows residents to receive a five percent discount on flood insurance.
