An annual audit report revealed the South Walton Fire District is in good financial shape.

Freeport adopted a symbol representing the city, with logo designed by 12-year-old Travis Hollington.

 

10 years ago — 2004

Experts say the local real estate market in South Walton is second only to south California.

Somerset Beach was renamed Alys Beach in memory of the wife of Elton B. Stephens, founder of EBSCO Gulf Coast Development Company, which developed the property.

A new beach safety star, Seemore the Safety Crab, was introduced with the new beach flag system proposed by the Beach Safety Committee.
