State Department of Environmental Protection officials took three Topsail Hill property owners to court in an attempt to obtain their land for conservation and recreation.


10 years ago — 2004

Philanthropist Sam Shine of Black Diamond, Fla. , offered the county 20 acres of his property off Rock Hill Road east of Freeport for a Walton County animal shelter.

Ninety-five lots at Draper Lake Community were put on the market with 70 selling the first day and the rest by the end of the first week.

Windswept Dunes golf club opened with tee sheets available.
