The Walton County Sheriff’s Office received a $43,000 grant from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to purchase several items, including a GPS tracking system, a decontamination shower and a water reservoir, a hand wash station a tactical ladder, an exhaust fan, four carbon stealth cylinders, a hypodermic needle disposal container, a ballistic entry shield and electra-shield bolt cutter.

Okaloosa Walton Community College permanently changed its name to Okaloosa Walton College .

Turner Broadcasting arrived in South Walton in search of seagulls to shoot and be broadcast as “The Misunderstood Bird of the South,” before heading to Destin for more photos.

Destin Real Estate Company broke ground for its new building in Bue Mountain Beach .
