FREEPORT — A 21-year-old man is in serious condition after a Sunday evening wreck on State Road 20.

Devin Macdonald of Freeport was driving eastbound near Sycomore Drive when he failed to properly negotiate a curve causing his vehicle to leave the roadway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol press release.

Macdonald’s 2004 Toyota Tacoma went into the south grass shoulder where it struck a guardrail. After hitting the guardrail, the vehicle crossed both lanes of SR 20 then into the north grass shoulder where it rolled.

The vehicle came to a final rest on its left side, the release said. The accident caused around $8,000 in damages.

Macdonald was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola by medical helicopter with serious injuries, the release said.

The crash is currently under investigation by FHP.
