Freeport man arrested for assault on a law enforcement officer

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Brian Wayne Ford, 41, of Freeport for assaulting a law enforcement officer. He was arrested Jan. 13.
The WCSO investigation began Jan. 13 at approximately 9 p.m. when deputies received a call referencing a domestic violence incident at Ford’s residence. When deputies arrived, Ford armed himself with a knife and firearm.
Ford armed himself with the firearm and made verbal threats toward deputies after they identified themselves as law enforcement officers.
Ford was arrested and charged with two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer, a second-degree felony; and one count of battery, a first-degree misdemeanor.
He was booked into the Walton County Jail.
