Man charged with child rape

PANAMA CITY -- Police Wednesday arrested 24-year-old Wilbert Esperance for allegedly raping teenaged girls on three separate occasions during the past year.

On one occasion, Esperance allegedly crawled through a window, tore a 13-year-old girl’s clothes off and performed a sex act on her against her will, according to Panama City Police. The victim of the other two attacks was 14 at the time of the first attack.

Esperance and the victims were known to each other and the attacks were not random, police said.

Esperance is charged with a count of burglary and three counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a person younger than 16.
