Frances Ezell Lee
Frances Ezell Lee made her journey from her earthly home in Santa Rosa Beach to her home in Heaven on Oct. 5, 2013, surrounded by members of her family. Born on Jan. 9, 1922, Frances married Robert E. Lee III on May 25, 1946.
Her husband predeceased her on April 19, 2013. She was also predeceased by her brother, William Ezell, and her sisters, Catherine Conway, Ruth Ezell and Martha Ezell.
Frances enjoyed her childhood years in Birmingham, Ala. She was highly respected for her work as an executive secretary at National Cash Register, Blue Cross and Terminal Transport Freight Lines. She and her husband raised their children near Atlanta, Ga., and settled in Santa Rosa Beach 19 years ago.
Mrs. Lee taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school for more than 60 years, last serving at South Walton Baptist Church. One of her greatest desires was to lead children to the Lord. She was a very special lady who was loved by all who met her.
Frances is survived by her son, Robert E. Lee IV and wife Debbie of Destin; daughters, Leslie Ward and husband Stanley of Atlanta, and Suzanne Kimbrough and husband Rob of Atlanta; grandsons, Scott Plageman and wife Walker of Atlanta, Max Lee of Austin, Texas; and Trent Ward and wife Courtney of Fairfax, Va.; granddaughter, Audra Cenac and husband Chris of Houma, La.; six great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Horace Lee (Pat) of Hayden, Ala., and Frank Lee (Gladys) of Bessemer, Ala.; and sister-in-law, Isabelle Traywick (Jim) of Birmingham. She is also survived by the children of her siblings, nieces Linda Lyle (Paul), Deborah Ezell, Beverly Ezell and Denise Glancy (Jerry), and nephews Larry Ezell (Patricia), James Ezell and Steven Ezell.
A celebration of Frances’ life and her many years of service to the Lord will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 2 at South Walton Baptist Church, 24388 Hwy. 331 South in Santa Rosa Beach.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to her beloved church.
