Obituaries 12-10

Published: Monday, December 10, 2012 at 11:37 AM.

A mass of the Resurrection will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 10 at Saint Mary Catholic Church with a reception following the burial at Saint Mary Church Parish Life Center.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Covenant Hospice, Fort Walton Beach Rehabilitation Center staff, and all of the wonderful people who have visited and helped our beloved mother through her journey home to be with our Lord. God bless you all.

Dr. Fridtjof Erasmus Nussbaumer
Husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and so much more, Dr. Fridtjof Nussbaumer (‘Pop’, ‘Doc Fred’ ‘Freddie’), 78, was born in Clarksville, Tenn., from Anna Sturm and Japhet Nussbaumer. Fridtjof passed away peacefully in his home in Sandestin Dec. 10, 2012, with his family at his side.

Fridtjof was a devoted family man who practiced orthopedic surgery for more than 30 years in Syracuse, N.Y.

He was happily married for 46 years to Mary Nussbaumer who passed in October of 2010.

Whether you were biologically related to him or whether you were one of the lucky ones who was able to be adopted by him, you can know, without a doubt, that you were loved by him. No one could deny his giant heart and his commitment to anyone and everyone.

It’s not very often that you can meet a person and say, “He is the nicest, kindest, smartest man” and have it be true. But without any hesitation, this is his legacy.
