Curtiss T. Dyke

Curtiss T. Dyke died peacefully in his sleep Dec. 11, 2012, in Santa Rosa Beach. He was 89 years old.

Curtiss Dyke was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Philadelphia, Penn. He is the son of Curtiss T. Dyke, Sr. and Mary Smith Croll. Curtiss grew up in Ridgefield, Conn., graduated from Ridgefield High School and then served in the United States Navy during WW II.

Subsequently, he went to RCA Technical Institute in New York City and then worked as an electrical engineer for Schlumberger.

He lived in Sarasota, Fla., and after retiring moved to Otto, N.C. Curtiss eventually moved with his wife, Helen, to Santa Rosa Beach to be near his family. He enjoyed fishing with his son, Chris, and playing pinochle with his friends.

Curtiss is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Helen, daughter, Jennifer Clauson, son-in-law, Eric Clauson, and grandchildren Kim and Mike Clauson, all from Santa Rosa Beach.
