Alleen Helen Colwell
Mrs. Alleen Helen Colwell, 78, passed away March 26, 2014. She was born April 10, 1935, in Napoleon, Ohio, to Hiram and Dorothy Louden Flint.
Mrs. Colwell had been a resident of Freeport. She was Methodist by faith and a member of the Freeport United Methodist Church. She worked as a cook in the restaurant industry for many years. She also worked as a security guard. She enjoyed reading, listening to bluegrass and gospel music. She was an avid solitary player.
Mrs. Colwell is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas Colwell, and one son Richard Colwell.
Mrs. Colwell is survived by her sons, Gary Colwell and wife Colleen of Michigan, Thomas Colwell, Jr. and wife Audrey of Ohio, Bobby Colwell and wife Kay of Tennessee, and Donald Colwell of Tennessee; daughters, Suzanne VanAlstine and husband Charles of Freeport, Gayleen Shrout of Freeport, Roxanne Colwell and husband Ronnie of Freeport and Nancy Knight and husband Keith of Tennessee; sister, Maryann Beck and husband Skip of Ohio; 38 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. April 4 at Freeport First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wesley Syfrett officiating.
Floral arrangements are being accepted.
