Cad Virginia Bruner Sharpe

Our mother and grandmother slipped peacefully into God’s arms surrounded by her family on April 1, 2014. Virginia was born in Mount Moriah, Ala., on Nov. 13, 1918.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Columbus and Cad Elizabeth Bruner; sisters, Elizabeth Luckie, Thelma Miller, and Marjorie Richardson; and great-grandson, Hunter James Brixey.

Virginia is survived by her son, Jimmy Sharpe (Anne) of Santa Rosa Beach; daughter, Nadya Sharpe Starr (Bob Williams) of Pasadena, Calif.; grandchildren, Jay Sharpe (Robin) of Santa Rosa Beach, Shannon Sharpe Carr of Destin, Valerie Sharpe Bailey (Eric) of Goldsboro, N.C., Conrad Starr of Los Angeles, Calif., and Hollace Starr (Reza Safai), of Los Angeles; great-grandchildren, Trey Brixey (Jenn) of Miramar Beach, Joshua Carr of Destin, Allison Bailey, Elizabeth Bailey, Natalie Bailey, of Goldsboro, N.C., Brody Sharpe, of Santa Rosa Beach, Starr Safai and Susannah Safai of Los Angeles; and one great-great-granddaughter, Skylar Anne Brixey, of Santa Rosa Beach. There are also many nieces, nephews and cousins, whom she loved very much.

Virginia was retired from West Alabama Easter Seals Rehab Center, Tuscaloosa, Ala. She was a member of Destiny Worship Center in Miramar Beach. She spent her life helping other people from loved ones to friends and neighbors. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Clary-Glenn funeral home of Freeport, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.
