Stella Sullivan

Stella Sullivan of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., and formerly of Dunwoody, Ga., died peacefully Sept. 16, 2012, at the age of 88. She was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Vandergrift, Penn., and was the daughter of Ukrainian immigrants Anthony and Anna Hayduk.

Stella and her late husband, Joe, lived in Syracuse, N.Y., before moving to Dunwoody in 1964. A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she was an avid golfer and a member of Cherokee Country Club, where she spent her spare time pursuing the “Perfect Swing.” As a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church, she devoted much of her time to the church and her religion.

Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Sullivan, and son, John P. Sullivan.

She is survived by her son, Father Joseph M. Sullivan, Jr., of Colton, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Bo Sullivan of Santa Rosa Beach; grandchildren, Martin and Margo; and extended granddaughter, Camille.

She was generous and loving and filled our lives with many wonderful memories that the family will cherish forever.

Funeral services were held Sept. 22 at Patterson’s Arlington Chapel, Sandy Springs, Ga. Interment followed at Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs, Ga.
