Jerry James Flippo

Jerry Flippo of Inlet Beach, Fla., was born Sept. 4, 1942. He passed away June 17, 2014, surrounded by family. Jerry worked for 3M for 39 years in Guin, Ala. His true passion though was the outdoors. He raised cattle on his farm in Guin. His gardens were always well tended and his family and friends were able to enjoy the fruits of his labor year-round. He enjoyed fishing, especially saltwater fishing during retirement.

Jerry was an active member of Seagrove Baptist Church. His devotion to Christ was apparent in his interaction with all people.  He was kind and giving, and his legacy will live on through those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Jerry was preceded in death by his son, James Stanley Flippo.

He is survived by his mother, Maxine Jeffreys; wife, Carolyn; children, Keith Flippo (Ken Ganeaux) and Candace Flippo Price (Jamey Price); and grandchildren, Jack Price, Hutton Price and Lucy Price.

A funeral service will be held at noon June 20 at First Baptist Church in Guin, Ala., followed by a brief graveside service. The family will receive friends two hours prior to services.

Pallbearers will be Ben Burleson, Bobby Burleson, Roger Robertson, Tim Pollard, Chad Williams, Brian Williams, Ken Ganeaux, and Jamey Price. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held in Florida in the coming weeks.
