Thomas Houston Berryman, Jr.
Tom went home to Heaven to be wit his Lord and Savior on June 5, 2014, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones at his home. Tom was born Jan. 22, 1954, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Thomas Houston Sr. and Camille Rabb Berryman,
Tom leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years, Linda. Tom was an amazing father to his two children, Brandon Berryman (Dana) and Brittany Berryman Keown (Shawn) as well as a loving grandfather to his five grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Jimmy (Kay), and sister, Janice Lemons (Tim).
Tom was preceded in death by his grandson, Branson Houston Berryman, and sister-in-law, Laurie Giroir Graves.
Tom was a dedicated employee to Academy Sports and Outdoors for 11 years, a huge New Orleans Saints fan and enjoyed fishing, playing his guitars and listening to music in his spare time. Tom was a selfless man who brought much joy to all and he will be deeply missed. His memories will be forever cherished. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. June 7 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Miramar Beach. Visitation will begin at 9:30. Burial will immediately follow the service at Gulf Cemetery in Santa Rosa Beach.
JoAnna (Thomason) Blount
Mrs. JoAnna Blount, 82, of Freeport, Fla., took her journey through this life which ended on June 3, 2014.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James (Mack) Thomason and Ella Verd (Marie) Thomason; sister, Lou Ann Clemmons; brother, Roy Thomason; and husband, Oliver Blount.
She is survived by daughter, Gwen Taunton and husband, the Rev. Louis Taunton; sons, Kenny Joe Garrett and Janssen Blount, all of Freeport; stepson, Oliver (Jr.) Blount of Louisiana; adopted son, David Kelly and wife Bonnie of Gaskin, Fla.; grandchildren, Melissa Thomas and husband Steve, Sugee McRae and husband Keith, Luke Taunton, Dalton and Bryer Blount, all of Freeport, and Donna and Teresa Garrett of Vernon, Fla.; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. June 7 at New Beginnings Church in Freeport with the Rev. Tony McCullough and minister Joel Davis officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Hatcher Cemetery in Freeport. Flowers are being accepted.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to the caregivers and staff of The Manor at Bluewater Bay and Dr. James Howell for all their help and compassion over the seven years they took care of their mother. May God bless each one of you.
