Marie Wershoven Kupferman
Marie Wershoven Kupferman, 88, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., passed into the hands of Jesus at Stanley House Assisted Living in DeFuniak Springs on April 30, 2014. She was born July 28, 1925, in Ridgefield Park, NJ to William and Marie Wershoven.
Marie was an artist who loved and studied art and photography at Cordova Museum in Framingham and Columbia University in NYC. She was the wife of Zelig Kupferman who passed into the Lord’s hands in October 2002. Marie lived in Framingham, Mass., from 1966 to 2004 until relocating to Santa Rosa Beach.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Wershoven, Otto Wershoven, Karl Wershoven, Ernest Wershoven; and sister, Amelia “Babe” Wood.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Kupferman Cyr and husband Raymond of Santa Rosa Beach; grandchildren, John, Joy, and Luke Cyr of Tallahassee, Fla.; second cousin, Ruth Gusta of Michigan; nephew, Robert Wershoven of Boca Raton, Fla., and Christopher Wershoven, of New York City, NY; and other nephews and nieces.
No services are planned. Marie’s ashes will be laid to rest at Grove Street Cemetery in Massachusetts.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home of DeFuniak Springs.
Floyd Earl Godwin
Earl Godwin of Freeport, Fla., passed away early May 5, 2014. With the Joy of Life with him and the pleasure of meeting up with his wife of 70 years, he left 93 years of joy to a lot of people who knew him.
Erk, Earl, Mr. Earl or Mr. Godwin will always be fondly remembered around Freeport for his kindness and generosity and more remembered as Dad to us. Dad was a great supporter of our family. He worked hard as a boat captain in the USA and overseas, civil service and entrepreneur in the fishing business. Owning his fish market fulfilled a life long dream. He enjoyed his life to the end making the best of God’s plan.
His children, Angela Creagle and husband Jim, Hubert Earl “Buddy” Godwin and Larry Godwin and life partner Patrick Marshall survive him.
Grandchildren are Joey Spivey and wife Susan; Chip Godwin and wife Tracy; Casey Godwin; Chris Godwin; Paige Ward and husband Sonny and Jimmy Creagle and wife Jenna.
Great-grandchildren are John Spivey; Caymon and Callie Godwin; David Godwin; Dixie and Kenneth Geralds and Alysia Creagle.
Also surviving is his brother, Benny Godwin, and wife Maggie; sister, Inez Roth; in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and all who cared for him.
He has joined his wife, Daphne Godwin, son, David Thomas Godwin; parents, Clara and Thomas Godwin, brothers, Irving Godwin, Burruss Godwin, Donald Godwin; and sister, Irene Paulk, for a great reunion.
A time of visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. May 9 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home, 150 East Hwy. 20 in Freeport.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. May 10 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home.
Floral arrangements are being accepted.
Burial will follow in the Hatcher Cemetery.
