Run, Hillary, run! But don't get too far away

Hart Talk: June 7

"Barack Obama says he is now looking for a new church...preferably one where the religious order has taken a vow of silence." - Jay Leno

Hillary is right to stay in this race. Barack Obama's revealing remarks, which give us insight into his disdain for Southern white voters, have given Hillary a strong argument that she is the best Democratic candidate.
Confronted with growing evidence from the voting results of Kentucky and West Virginia that Clinton has a broader appeal with rural Southerners than does Obama, who has belittled them with his elitist comments,
Dems should reconsider. Hillary's case is actually a logical and reasoned one. She is the best candidate for the Democrats to beat John McCain.
Of course, Democrats take a dim view of logic and reason, viewing them as racist and favoring the rich.
She has exploited this situation well, which is what Clintons do. She won in Kentucky, thus qualifying her for the Kentucky Derby next year and the financial rights to Bill Clinton's stud fees.
She also won West Virginia, appealing to blue collar Democrats in both states by promising half price pay-per-view monster truck events, and a federal subsidy for mullet haircuts.
She was nice enough to provide a history lesson along the way, reminding the angry white male population about what happened to Bobby Kennedy (hint hint) and why she is staying in the race. She is basically saying to some nut out there: If you want me to give you your gun rights, go out there and help a sister out. Her Web site then posted Obama's campaign schedule with helpful hints of where book depositories and grassy knolls are located.
Barack also has problems with the most loyal and powerful of Democrats, the Jewish voters. He has been on an all-out blitz to get them back on his side after his Hamas-friendly remarks. The most religious of the Jewish vote is so kosher that they will not even operate a ham radio.
Recently Obama visited a predominantly Jewish part of Miami (I think they call it Miami) and sought to appeal to them. He told the crowd that "Barack" is derived from the Jewish word "baruch," which means one who is blessed. An elderly Jewish man in the back said, "Soooo mister smooth talker pants, whatz with the Hussein middle name?" Obama turned his mother's shade of white, yet quickly deflected the question by saying, "You do realize Hillary Rodham Clinton's name has ham in it!"
Not to be outdone, Hillary told the Jewish crowd that her name, in Hebrew, means "woman who married lawyer who made $110 million on his book."
Barack has not been under this much pressure from Jews since he hosted a Passover Seder at the German Weinerhouzen Sausage House restaurant in Chicago. Between his recent Catholic Priest Pfleger friend's comments that Farrakhan was a gift from God, Obama is just one Mel Gibson endorsement away from losing the Jewish vote.
With her Puerto Rico win, which is the most coveted of Democrat wins in that it is the coveted liberal mecca state of dependence and welfare by which, if the Dems have their way, all currently self-sufficient hard-working small towns might someday become, Hillary marches on. Like most things a good Democrat does, the Puerto Rico win was symbolic since there are no votes to be had there. But, it does give her momentum going into the real test coming up, the Guatemalan primary.
I hope Hillary battles to the convention since I have press passes to go cover it. It will be an odd mix of her followers there to support her and Barack's folks there to make sure that he does not get tricked out of the nomination by the Democratic old guard.
The redneck blue collar white Democrats and 65-year-old spinster women who want Hillary to win, versus Barrack's angry blacks and naive' liberal college girls should be fun to watch. The Democratic Convention is shaping up to be like Jerry Springer doing a show with Oprah - I am so there.
